Why I run

I started running in my 30s when solo parent duties left me less time to go hiking/backpacking. I figured I’d try to run the same trails instead and see how it goes. Since then running has added so much discipline, balance, adventure, and fun to my life, and I’ve met so many amazing people along the way.

My favorite trail to run

My backyard is Tiger Mountain here in Issaquah, WA, and I am so grateful for that. The lion’s share of my training is on Tiger’s slopes, but it never gets old. My favorite route is an 11 mile loop hitting the West Tiger 1-2-3 summits.

What I hope to convey with my writing

The data behind every run tells a fascinating story in human performance, and my hope is to tell the stories that would otherwise go untold.
