Happy Tuesday, trail friends. This week, with just a hint of spring in the air, we celebrate winter one last time with a collection of David Miller’s favorite cold and damp trail-running photos. And in the DFL, our favorite run-streaker says, “Death before DNF” is stupid.

THE WEEKEND COOL DOWN
JACKPOT!
The 10th Annual Jackpot Ultras hosted the USATF 100-Mile Road National Championship this year in Henderson, Nevada, minutes from the Las Vegas strip. Jonah Backstrom took home the men’s title in 14 hours and 11 minutes, and Sierra DeGroff won the women’s race in 15 hours and 59 minutes (?: 1). David Blaylock won the USATF 100 Mile 80+ National Championship, finishing in 29:47:29 (?: 2).
And the 33rd Way Too Cool 50k took place in Cool, California, with Katherine Short (?: 3) and Craig Hunt emerging from the singletrack victorious.
We reached out to some of our favorite photographers for some winter-themed images and boy did David Miller deliver. The UK-based photographer shared some of his favorite cold-weather shots from UTMB’s Ultra Trail Snowdonia to the South Dorset Ridgeway National Trail and beyond.
