Happy Tuesday trail friends. What. A. Week. The inspiration flowing out of France hit all-time highs with Catalan Kilian Jornet and American Katie Schide being crowned this year’s speedy King and Queen of Mont Blanc. Although we did find video evidence that Kilian is, in fact, human after all.

There were 2,795 intrepid runners who left Chamonix last Friday to circumnavigate Europe’s highest peak. Katie Schide (?: 1) went out hard and after trading the lead with Marianne Hogan, took the win in 23 hours and 15 minutes (third times a charm for Katie who was 6th in 2019 and 8th in 2021).

Not even Covid could slow Kilian, as he once again proved himself the best ultrarunner of all time against a stacked field and became the first runner to circle Mont Blanc in under 20 hours for his 4th victory. Just to recap: Kilian broke both the Hardrock and the UTMB course records this year, 6 weeks apart. (?: 2)

Congrats to Petter Engdahl for overcoming a scary ankle roll to set a massive new course record at CCC of 9 hours, 53 mins for the 100km race with 20,013 ft of vert (?: 3).
